3D Rendering: How to create technical drawings?

So how do we begin?
In order to be able to 3D Render, technical drawings need to be drawn. So what are technical drawings?

Step 1: Technical Drawings
For starters, when you have an idea for your project, proper sketches need to be done to model the proposed idea well. This is to ensure that its functions are properly established before the 3D model is made. This basic step is easily passed on and is often forgotten as finalised concepts are usually presented at the end of the day. However, technical drawings and sketches are extremely essential and play an important role in the final 3D model.
Technical drawings are engineering documents. In order to produce many products, the manufacturer or mould makers will require information on the product. These include detailed drawings of the product with specific measurements which would be used in the manufacturing process. Such drawings convey all required information from the designer to the worker who would be producing the product. Furthermore, this is done via CAD which refers to computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), an automated process for technical documentation. Software’s that can be used include Solidworks or AutoCAD.
Step 2: 3D Modelling
3D modelling is required to make your 3D model. It is a technique in computer graphics for producing a digital representation of how the product looks like in 3D. A special software is used to manipulate points in virtual spaces, known as vertices, to form a mesh. Mesh refers to a collection of vertices that form an object. For these 3D objects to be created, they are either created automatically or by deforming the mesh. 3D modelling your product can be done with specialised 3D modelling software. Some of these software’s include Solidworks, Rhino, Blender, Maya, 3D’s Max, Zbrush, Sketchup, Cinema 4D and many more.

Finally, 3D Rendering happens. One might ask, what is 3D Rendering? Well simply put, 3D Rendering refers to: the process of converting three-dimensional (3D) images to two-dimensional (2D) images on a computer. This is usually done through a computer software, which produces photo-realistic images. This is done via adding materials and colours to the image so that users/ designers will be able to visualise how the product looks before it is being manufactured. This would be the best visualisation of how your final product looks like before it is being produced.
