Vietnam national holidays 2020 : The Reunification Day and Labor Day

There are 2 Vietnam national holidays : the Reunification Day that will take place the 30th of April 2020 and then the Labor Day that will take place the 1st of May.

Mindsparkz office in Ho Chi Minh will close for this important cultural occasion as well as all the factories and businesses in Vietnam. The office will be closed on 30th April, 2020 (Thursday) and will resume operations on 4th May, 2020 (Monday).

But what is the Reunification Day ?

This National Holiday marks the fall of the Saigon Government on 30th April 1975. This event signed the end of the Vietnam war and thanks to it, the process of unification of the Democratic Republic began.

This holiday is very popular in the country. Moreover, as it’s the day before the Labour Day, people who are working in big cities take the time to return to the country side and enjoy this extended break with family. Tourists take also this occasion to visit touristic sites.

All businesses in Vietnam are closed during those 2 days but most shops remain open.

How is it celebrated?

Big parades take place in big cities, flags will be flown everywhere in the country.

Usually, families come together with their elders to share a meal and love.

But unfortunately, due to this recent Covid-19 outbreak, gatherings will be prohibited during this special day.

Why more is better when drafting designs : Pillows

Drafting is an important process to designing promotional products. Drafting can also be otherwise known in the design thinking process as Ideation. After gathering all the information needed from clients, we draft as much ideas necessary to solve their problems.

Why should we do multiple drafts?

This is because clients can sometimes be very general in their requests. Drafting multiple designs helps us simulate different outcomes of the product. When all the designs are compiled, it would be much easier for the client to narrow down their options to a single design.

Is it a must?

Drafting is not always necessary. Sometimes clients are certain with what their product should look like, and would rather have us replicate a hand drawn sketch into a 3-D Design. In this case, it would be easier. However, clients might gain more when there is more perspective and thought put into designing the product. It is best to draft as much ideas if time and resources are available.

Example : Mindsparkz Pillow

To illustrate this, these are 4 different designs of pillow casings we did for our brand. As you can see, we use the same template for all designs. The position, shape, and background of the pillow remains the same. While doing multiple drafts would ideally be different, it should also have a basis for similarity.

In this case, we wanted our pillow to have a summer theme. It is a broad subject, therefore drafts are necessary.

Sketching

Firstly, we wanted to keep it simple and minimal. It had to be a single standalone product, that can be flexible and used regardless of how thick the cables are. We also wanted something portable and light, therefore not limited to home use. This is a sketch we made for our friends from the ODM Group!

Final Artwork

Here, we furnished up the final artwork with more details. As you can see, the colors used in this design makes it much more vibrant. We’ve also personalized it by adding the brand logo and mascot. These are great for keeping your charger cables or earpiece from getting tangled in your bag. Moreover, these can also be used to organize your excessively long laptop cables! We just love how universal these custom cable organizers are.
